2024 KALABAKA JUKEBOX – 85’/ Soundtrack
The 15th edition of the Skopje-based Makedox Documentary Festival gave Jeroen Stout carte blanche to compile and live-mix a new soundtrack for the 1929 Dutch/German silent movie Kalabaka, a travel through the Balkan. The life event became something between a life-set, a concert and a film screening, where dancing, singing along or just watching and listening were made possible.

2018 THE NATION8 x 30’ / radio drama serial for NTR Radio 1
An adaptation of the successful theatre play The Nation, originally written and directed by Eric de Vroedt for Het Nationale Theater in the Hague. A roller coaster through the multicultural landscape of the Netherlands. Who is responsible for the disappearance of Ismaël A? A redheaded police officer, his Salafist brother, an of child abuse suspected politician, a crooked project developer or maybe his own desperate mother?

The development and restructuring of the AUP, an urban development plan for the expansion of the city of Amsterdam between 1935 and 2006 is brought to life in 3 sound installations.

A television team, an escaped criminal and a researcher are locked in a cave by accident. Contact with the outside world is impossible. While waiting for help, they find a piece of obsidian, a stone that functions as a mirror for the soul.

2013 EEN HAAGSE AFFAIREaudiovisual installation
In the late 1700’s Sophia Noortwijck and her mother were sentenced for prostitution, forgery and theft. The court case against these ‘nouveau riche’ of the Golden Age culminated in a scandal, that destroyed Sophia’s reputation. A form of cancellation avant la lettre.
